HVAC SEO: more booked heating and cooling jobs from Google

Take a homeowner in March. Her air conditioner is seventeen years old, it struggled through last August, and the tech who came out told her it might not make another summer. On a quiet evening she starts reading about what a new system costs and whether a heat pump makes sense for her house. She reads a few HVAC companies' pages and saves one. In July the old unit finally quits on a 95-degree afternoon, and she doesn't search at all. She calls the company she found in March.

HVAC SEO is the work of helping Google understand which heating and cooling jobs your company does and where you do them, so you show up for the homeowner searching from a hot living room in July and for the one quietly reading in March. We do that work for HVAC companies through your website, your Google Business Profile, your reviews and your listings. Then we make sure the calls it brings get answered and the replacement quotes get followed up. It is the HVAC side of our SEO for home service companies.

What our HVAC SEO work covers

  • Pages for AC repair, AC and heat pump replacement, ductless mini-splits and furnace work, each written for the homeowner who searches for that job
  • A page for each town your trucks run to, with real jobs from that town
  • A Google Business Profile kept current through the seasons, with your services, hours and photos from real installs
  • Review requests after every job, with replies from you
  • The same business name, address and phone number on the directory sites homeowners check
  • Missed call text back and replacement quote follow-up, set up alongside the search work
  • A monthly report that compares calls and booked jobs from search with the same month a year earlier

Why HVAC SEO has to be ready before the summer heat

Of the plumbing, HVAC and electrical jobs we measured, AC repair draws the most searches by a wide margin. US homeowners search for AC repair work about 1.1 million times a month, and advertisers paid an average of about $41 a click. It is also the most seasonal. Searches in the busiest summer month run about three times the slowest month in late fall. The figures are US monthly averages from Google's own advertising data for the year to October 2026.

That swing decides when the work gets done. Google needs time to find a new page, come back to it and decide where it fits, so a repair page written in June is late for that summer. We build and fix the repair pages and the profile in the slower months, so they are settled in before the first hot week. The slower months are also a good time to call past customers, which who an HVAC company should call first when the phone goes quiet covers.

Separate pages for AC repair and for system replacement

A homeowner whose AC is blowing warm air wants someone today. She searches with "near me" or her town, looks at the map and calls whoever looks real and picks up. The repair page and the profile have one job for her: show that you work in her town, show your reviews and put the phone number where her thumb is. How an HVAC company shows up for AC repair near me goes into that search.

A homeowner planning a replacement takes her time. In the same Google search data, most replacement searches are worded as installation, and many of them ask what a new system or a heat pump costs. Those homeowners read for weeks, so the replacement pages answer what you answer at kitchen tables: what decides the size of the system, how long the install takes, whether you offer financing and what happens to the old equipment. We write the pages with you, in your words, and we don't publish prices you haven't set.

Ductless mini-split pages for homeowners ready to hire

Mini-splits get a lot of attention online, and most of it comes from people shopping for equipment. In the same October 2026 data, product searches for mini-splits outnumbered install and repair searches about four to one. Many of those shoppers buy a unit online, and some of them later need someone to install it or fix it.

A mini-split page written for equipment shoppers brings visits that rarely turn into calls. We write for the homeowner who is ready to hire: adding cooling to a garage conversion or an upstairs bonus room, wondering whether one outdoor unit can serve several rooms, or living with a ductless unit that stopped working. Mini-split repair searches carried one of the highest click prices among mini-split searches in that data, which often means fewer companies are competing for them.

Town pages that are worth publishing

Most HVAC companies serve a ring of towns, and homeowners search with the town name. A page for each town you serve helps when the page is about your work there: the neighborhoods, the jobs you've done, the kind of houses and systems you see. Google's spam policies count "pages targeted at specific regions or cities that funnel users to one page" as doorway abuse, so we don't publish copies of one page with the town name swapped.

We keep your Google Business Profile's service area in line with those pages and its services list in line with the work you want, and we update both as the seasons change. How an HVAC company should set up and keep up its Google Business Profile covers the profile side.

What happens when the phone rings in July

The busiest week of the summer is when an owner-run HVAC company misses the most calls, because everyone is on a roof or in an attic. Ranking for AC repair that week only pays off if the homeowner reaches a person.

When a call from search rings out, the caller gets a text from your company on your business number asking whether the house has no cooling, and urgent replies go to whoever is on call. Our missed call text back page shows the messages. Replacement quotes are the other place jobs slip away. A homeowner comparing two or three companies on a new system can take weeks to decide, so each quote gets a person who owns it and a reminder until she says yes, no or not yet. All of it lives in your Jobber or Housecall Pro account if you use one, with the source of each call attached.

How we measure HVAC SEO through the seasons

July against November tells you about the weather. Where last year's numbers exist, we compare each month with the same month a year earlier and show which pages brought visitors from Google, how many of them called or filled out a form, and how many became repair visits, replacement quotes and booked jobs. If the mini-split page brings visits and no calls, we rewrite it.

Nobody can promise you a spot on Google or a date you'll reach it, and we won't. It depends on how many HVAC companies compete in your towns, how established your site and profile are, and how many reviews and links you have. If you need calls this summer, Google Local Services Ads can put you at the top of the page while the search work builds.

Questions owners ask

What is HVAC SEO?

HVAC SEO is the work of getting a heating and cooling company's website and Google Business Profile in front of homeowners who search for HVAC work nearby. It covers pages for repair, replacement and mini-split work, a page for each town you serve, a complete profile, reviews and consistent listings. The aim is calls and booked jobs, in the busy season and the slow one.

Is local SEO for an HVAC company different from regular SEO?

Local SEO is the part aimed at the map and at searches that include a town or "near me." For most HVAC companies that is most of the work, because homeowners want someone close enough to come today. The rest is the research side: replacement and mini-split pages that homeowners read for weeks before they call.

When should an HVAC company start SEO?

The slower months are the best time, because new pages and profile changes need time to settle before the heat brings the calls. Starting in the middle of summer still helps, and the work keeps building into the next season.

Should my website have heating pages too?

Yes, if you do heating work. Furnace and heat pump calls carry many HVAC companies through the winter, and a homeowner whose furnace quits in January searches the same way one with a dead AC does in July. We build those pages on the same plan, ready before the cold.

Can you guarantee my HVAC company the top spot on Google?

No, and be careful with anyone who does. Google decides the order of its results, and it says nobody can request or pay for a better local ranking. We build the pages, profile and reviews Google looks at, then show you which ones bring in calls.

Who owns the website and Google Business Profile?

Your company does. We set up the website, the Google Business Profile and the accounts that measure search traffic in your company's name, and all of it stays with the business.
